Arcata's 150th Anniversary
Kick Off Celebration
Thursday, January 10, 2008
5:30 to 8:30 pm
At the California Welcome Center
1635 Heindon Road, Arcata
Join the Arcata Chamber of Commerce for an evening of food, wine, music and celebration in honor of Arcata's 150th Anniversary, with wine tasting from local vienyards and delectable hor d'oeuvres catered by Murphy's Market in Sunny Brae.
This special evening will feature an opportunity to bid on one of a kind historic Arcata photographs beautifully reproduced on canvas. There will also be a raffle and much more.
Be there for the unveiling of the Arcata 150th logo contest winner in grand style!

Arcata’s 150th Anniversary
Logo Contest
The Arcata Chamber of Commerce is holding a contest to design the logo for Arcata’s 150th Anniversary Celebration. This is an amateur contest that is open to community participation. Anyone interested is encouraged to submit their logo.
The winning logo will be chosen by a panel of local graphic designers, publishers and art professors and used in all promotional advertising, invitations and posters pertaining to Arcata’s 150th Celebration in 2008.
All entries will be published in the Arcata Eye newspaper and displayed in the California Welcome Center for the month of December. The winning entry will be featured on the Eye's front page and website throughout 2008. There will be prizes for first, second, and third place. The first place winner will receive an Apple I Pod!
All logos must be original works of art that can be reproduced for print. Logos must be specific to Arcata’s 150th anniversary and can be submitted in color, but must be reproducible in grayscale.
Contest entries should be submitted along with the artist’s name, phone number and mailing address to: Arcata Chamber of Commerce 1635 Heindon Road, Arcata, CA 95521 or arcata@arcatachamber.com.
Entries must be received no later than 5 p.m. Friday, December 21st. The winning logo will be unveiled Thursday, Jan. 10th at the 150th Anniversary Community Kick-Off Celebration at the California Welcome Center.

In recognition of this once in a lifetime event, the Arcata Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the City of Arcata and Arcata Main Street, is planning a celebration worthy of 150 years!
