






Saturday, June 15th, 2013.. the date of the Oyster Festival! This popular even draws thousands and thousands of oyster lovers from near and far.
Taste Oyster creations from multiple dozens of chefs, restaurants, and vendors. Held on the plaza in the center of Arcata every summer.
Food, fun and frolic on the Plaza! Great food – including an amazing array of oysters – makes this annual event a Humboldt

The free, self-guided, public art phenomenon known as Arts! Arcata brings together art lovers and community friends to the ever-growing downtown area of Arcata. With exciting and unique offerings around every corner, the city of Arcata in concert with Arcata Main Street celebrates the arts each and every month on the 2nd Friday.
Arts! Arcata transforms downtown Arcata into an arts district, featuring the work of more than 60 visual artists and live musicians at 30 participating locations. The event is free to the public and has become a much-anticipated monthly event drawing visitors from all over the county.
Many locations stay open late and offer patrons wine or beer for a donation towards local non-profit organizations. Arts! Arcata is a great opportunity to meet local artists and is for people of all ages who can enjoy being downtown at a safe, family-friendly community event.
The Schedule for the 2013 Board Meetings is now online. The board meetings take place on the third Tuesday of every month at 1pm and are located in the Conference room located on the 4th floor of the Jacoby Storehouse. Our February board meeting is happening on Tuesday, February 19th at 1pm.

Holiday Open House Kicks Off the Season of Wonder and Light on Friday, December 7, 2012!
Please join Arcata Main Street in celebrating the holiday season! Enjoy the sights, sounds, scents, and cheer throughout the month, as we celebrate the 2012 Season of Wonder & Light in the heart of Arcata.

Arcata Holiday Open House
Friday, December 7th from 6 – 9 pm
Santa arrives on a fire truck at the Plaza at 6 p.m. accompanied by the HSU Marching Lumberjacks.
There will be live music, holiday fun, special window displays, the great tree in Jacoby’s Storehouse, local merchants providing sweets, treats, holiday cheer, gift previews, and much more.

Trick or Treat On & Around the Plaza
Wednesday, October 31st
4 pm to 6pm • On & Around the Arcata Plaza
In the spirit of Halloween, Arcata Main Street presents Trick or Treat On & Around the Plaza on Wednesday, October 31 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. in downtown Arcata. The festivities will begin on H & 11th Street for a costume parade around the Arcata Plaza lead by the HSU Marching Lumberjacks and there will be treats at participating stores and a Halloween storefront, window display contest.
The streets will be closed on H Street from 8th to 11th, G Street from 8th to 9th, 8th Street from H to G and 9th Street from H to G to vehicular traffic from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., so all the ghosts and goblins are free to roam the streets or to trick or treat on and around the Plaza.
Downtown businesses will be participating in this safe and family-fun event by providing candy and treats for all the trick or treaters and will have their doors open to all the pumpkins, animals, superheroes, fairies and witches that may want stop by and say Boo!
