Storytelling Stage

Tales of Scottish selkies and magical creatures, live improvisational theater, juggling and dance, poetry, book readings..... our special storytelling stage offers audience of all ages a quiet space to enjoy some special performances by local artists. Costume Contest

Adults and Children may enter our special costume contest sponsored by Ultimate Yogurt! Win a gift certificate for delicious treats and show off your creativity and finery! To enter, visit the Storytelling Stage at 4:30pm. Winners will be announced at the Enchantment Stage at 5:00pm and will help lead the Fairy Fanfare procession around the plaza! Of course, whether you enter the costume contest or not we encourage EVERYONE to dress up and enjoy the magic of a whimsical afternoon and evening!

Fairy Fanfare

Calypso the Dragon and our Elemental Royalty will be joined by the Costume Contest winners to lead festival-goers in a magical procession around the Arcata Plaza two times at 5:00pm after announcing the costume contest winners. All are welcome to join the fanfare or to watch! Special thank you to Jesse Jonathon for helping coordinate the procession and to James Hildebrandt for wrangling and caring for our 36' dragon, Calypso.

Elemental Royalty

We are delighted to welcome royalty from each element

to the plaza to mingle with our festival goers and offer

opportunities to get your picture taken at their thrones!

Emerald Empire Live Action Role Playing Boffering Arena

The favorite of many children who enjoy the Medieval Festival of Courage will be at the Fairy Festival and Twilight Ball! Bring your favorite foam weapon or purchase one at their booth. Supervised fun for all! 

Smoothie Bike

The Community Resource Center of St. Joseph's Hospital will bring their people-powered Smoothie Bike to help festival goers celebrate healthy living and taste fairy potions made from fresh fruits! Learn about their projects and get refreshed!

Goblin's Grove Activity Area

Several local organizations are happy to offer free activities for children between 3-7:15pm at the festival in the center ring of the plaza, known as Goblin's Grove. We are excited to welcome:
