Do I need to buy tickets for Oyster Festival?
No, Oyster Festival is a complimentary event, all are welcome!
Where do I get my 21+ Wrist Band?
This is the first step for many patrons to Oyster Fest. There are three ID checking stations at Oyster Festival, please check the map on arrival or on our web page in advance of each year’s event for the most accurate locations. Wristbands can be obtained with proper ID, and by paying the $2 processing fee.

Where may I purchase beverage tokens?
Beverage tokens may be purchase at two locations at the event, please check the map on arrival or on our web page in advance of each year’s event for the most accurate locations.

What should I bring with me to the event?
Sunscreen, a hat, a ground cover (for sitting on the Plaza), refillable water canteen or non-glass bottle, yourself, your friends, your taste buds, your positive fun loving attitude and your dancing feet!
Do the Oyster Festival Vendors take debit and credit cards?
Some do, and some do not. Also, the internet connection required to run credit and debit can be unreliable in our rural area. It is a good idea to be prepared with cash.
Is there an ATM in the area?
There are several ATM’s nearby (within a 1,000 ft.) at our partner banks: US Bank, Coast Central Credit Union, Tri-County Bank Redwood Capital Bank.
Where can I park my car?
We host two parking lots for Oyster Festival. Parking is complimentary. One is located at Arcata High School and the other is at Humboldt State University (See map below). These ‘Shucker Shuttles’ run every 10-15 minutes back and forth from the Arcata Plaza.
Annually we host an estimated 15,000 attendees at this event, so be careful not to park in private or business lots, cars will be towed at owner’s expense.
Where is the Info Booth & Lost and Found located?
In 2018 the Info Booth and Will Call will become one. Items found will be turned in either at Security Central near the corner of 9th and H streets, or at Will Call which will be at the corner of 8th and G streets.

Where may I stay in the area for Oyster Festival?
There are many wonderful accommodations on the North Coast. It is a good idea to stay locally and park on the day of event at either the HSU Parking Lot, or the Arcata High School Parking Lot and take the ‘Shucker Shuttle’ into the event. Some accommodations we can recommend are:
